Very tired, so I’ll have to keep this brief, if it’s to be comprehensible (and maybe not even then…).
Wild Light was the opening act, who has a sound very in line with that of Arcade Fire’s, so it was a nice start. I had never heard of them before now, but I’m definitely going to check them out.
Very soon after LCD Soundsystem came on, a huge flash of lightning (and crack of thunder following suit soon thereafter) struck, and it started raining slowly, but with huge gobbing raindrops (it’s like the most cliché way to start a rainstorm: crack of thunder and lightning, then the sky opens up; that shit’s just supposed to happen in bad movies). LCD Soundsystem are pretty awesome; they’re high-energy, fuckin’ partying out music, and they were great, fun, and extremely loud. The only problem was the sonic bludgeoning you got from LCD Soundsystem meant you couldn’t have fresh hearing for the main act. It stopped raining eventually; chaos reined briefly as people fled forward to try and get underneath the Shoreline’s lame ass circus tent.
Arcade Fire’s set was spectacular. They have a wide lineup of musicians (I didn’t even count how many), and a bunch of instruments, and they all move around to play different things during the night. They have, I think, about the perfect set-up for a live show: they play with an intense amount of fun and energy, really throw themselves into the performance, and in that manage to produce extremely good renditions of their songs, even over the Shoreline’s muddy sound system. The stage effects — just some simple video projections and lighting — were a nice touch, and not obtrusive. I don’t know what else to say; they blew me away with an excellent performance of some great music.
I’m wet, tired, and deaf. Great show.

This show was amazing! One of the best live shows i’ve ever seen, and i’ve seen alot. The music is primal and emotional, feels like a happy dream - if you haven’t seen these guys live you’re really missing out on a virtually indescribable experience. It made me smile and want more!
