Further Vehicle Depreciation

Yeah, so, Santa Cruz decides to continue to be cruel to my car (not my new car, thankfully, my old one, a 1998 Mustang): some resident of this fine city decided my car would look better without a driver’s side rear view mirror, and tried to break it off. That side of the car was facing the sidewalk, so no, it was not an accident caused by a car, navigating the narrow street.

A neighbor helped try to glue it back on — the glass part is fine, just the plastic holding it onto the car has been broken. The power mirror thing still works, funnily enough.

This is particularly bad timing, since I’m trying to sell this car. If you are looking for an automobile picked up on the cheap, this may be a good option for you.

The current abuse tally:

Late 2004: brushed right rear fender against concrete pole.
Late 2004: brushed right door and rear fender against steel pole (this one was only a few feet tall, and was impossible to see).
Early 2005: driver’s side window written on with glue or glass etching fluid.
Early 2006: broken into; case of CDs stolen.
October 2006: driver’s side rear view mirror broken off.
